BETHEL — The Bethel Library will hold its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, June 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will be on the lawn of the library at 6 Broad Street in Bethel. It will take place rain or shine.
The plant sale has been an annual fundraising event for the library for twenty-seven years. The sale features the best perennials from the gardens of local gardeners in western Maine. In the last few years, the library has also included annuals, shrubs, herbs, and some vegetable seedlings in the sale.
If you have plants to donate, stop by the library to get tags. Every plant is labeled with its name, preferred environment (shade or sun), and the name of the garden it came from. If you’d like help digging or transporting plants to the library, or for more information, please call or text Susan Parker at 207-890-7243, or call the library at 207-824-2520.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
