DuBois

OXFORD — Karen Blackstone and Philip DuBois of Oxford were united in marriage on April 2 at the Oxford Advent Christian Church. The Rev. Clayton Blackstone, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony.

The bride was escorted by the bridegroom’s son, Jamie DuBois. Julie Matheny of Greenwood, Ind., was the matron of honor. Attendants were Rhonda Pennington of Zanesville, Ohio, Linda Lindberg of Chesterfield, Mo., and Debbie Roehrle of Ada, Ohio. Tim McLaughlin of Friendship served as best man. Hazel Blackstone of Bangor served her brother as best woman. Groomsmen were Kip Foss of South Paris and Steve Bunnell of Norway.

Music was provided by Ben and Julie Matheny, Susan Gayer of Cleveland, Ohio, and Robert Rogers of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Readings were led by Val Watiker of Los Angeles, Calif., and Drew Lindberg of Chsterfield, Mo.

A football tailgate party reception followed the ceremony in the church’s fellowship hall.

The bride, daughter of the late Jack and Lucille Blackstone of Zanesville, Ohio, graduated from Zanesville High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio Northern University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in MISST from Muskingum University.

The bridegroom, son of Phyllis DuBois of Friendship and the late Rev. Clarence DuBois, graduated from Mendota Township High School in Mendota, Ill. He attended Ohio Northern University and received a bachelor’s degree in theology and Christian music ministries from Berkshire Christian College. He also graduated from William Tyndale College with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and general arts, and from California College for Health Sciences with a master’s degree in health care administration. He is a licensed nursing home administrator and licensed minister with Second Best Ministries in Oxford.

After a honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean, the couple is living in Oxford.
