Ronald G. Dumais
LEWISTON – Ronald G. Dumais, 69, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center June 18, 2022.
He was born Jan. 18, 1953, the son of the late Gerard and Corinne Dumais. Ron grew up in the Little Canada neighborhood in Lewiston of which he had many fond memories. He graduated from high school in 1971 and obtained a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern Maine in 1976. Ron loved hockey and was on hockey teams throughout his school years.
He married in 1974 and raised two boys of whom he was very proud. He enjoyed attending their sporting events, taking them skiing, golfing and later in life helping them with their home projects.
Ron spent most of his working years as a Lighting Consultant at Heritage Lighting and then Lighting Concepts. He retired in 2019 and joined the golf league at Springbrook Golf Club. This was one of his favorite pastimes.
He is survived by his former wife, Sandra Dumais; son, Ryan and wife Megan, son, James and wife Michaela; eight grandchildren, Alexis, Willem, Elizabeth, Mackinley, Lugh, Tyler, Harrison and Theodore; sister, Suzanne Poulin and her husband John, brothers Jerry and wife Rita, and Daniel and wife Ann.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brother, Joseph.
Visitation will be held at the Albert and Burpee Funeral Home in Lewiston on Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a service at 12 p.m. Memories may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
