The Lewiston Public Library plans to partner with Maine State Museum educators for Landing the Lobster, a virtual adventure in a fishing boat.
The event — scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in Callahan Hall at the 200 Lisbon St. library — is for all ages.
This in-person program will allow participants to hear stories from Maine fisherman, learn about lobster biology, and find out facts about lobsters from the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
Participants will meet Maine State Museum educators virtually through the big screen, according to a news release from the library.
This presentation by the museum is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
