AUBURN — Girard C. LaCour, 88 of 1211 Sabattus St., Lewiston, died Sunday, June 12, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Farnumsville, Mass., Jan. 24, 1923, son of the late Charles and Regina Sabourin LeCour, and served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was married to Bernette Saucier, who predeceased him March 30, 2003. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a molder at Whitin Machine Works in Massachusetts.
He enjoyed wildlife, outdoor work and being among family and friends. He was a member of Holy Cross Church.
He is survived by three sons, Eugene and wife, Shirley, of Lewiston, Roger and wife, Denise, of Massachusetts, and Richard and wife, Brenda, of Lisbon; seven grandchildren, Robin, Roger, James, Jonathan, Christopher, J.R. and Jerry; also several great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene LeCour and wife, Bernice, of Palm, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Young of Lewiston, Geneva Martineau and husband, Roger, of Lewiston, and Lucille Paquette of Greene.
He was predeceased by a son, Lloyd.
