WATERFORD — Everyone is welcome to the much-loved Waterford Summer Breakfasts. They returned after 2 years of hiatus on July 4, with over 300 guests. The second breakfast was on Wednesday, July 20. Always smaller than the 4th, the second breakfast was nonetheless exuberantly enjoyed by guests and volunteers alike. Precautions were in place with spacing of tables and masks available. Hosted at the Wilkins House on Plummer Hill in the Flat of Waterford, adjacent to the Congregational Church, there will be two more breakfasts this summer on Wednesdays, August 3 and August 17. All are from 7:30-10 a.m. Everyone is welcome!
The breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, muffins, donut holes, juice, coffee, tea, and real Maine maple syrup. The price is $10; $5 for Children 10 and under.
It was 68 years ago when this tradition became a reality. Summer visitors, especially, look forward to the breakfasts.
The Waterford Library’s Book Sale will be available in the Wilkins House basement during these breakfasts.
Proceeds from the breakfast help with the upkeep of the Wilkins House.
