While I was in Farmington recently, visiting my mother, I went to the Fairview Cemetery to visit my father’s grave. A few weeks ago, we had planted some flowers, and my mother and sister had bought two beautiful solar lights, one a red cardinal and the other a hummingbird.

While I was there, I noticed that the solar lights had been stolen. They were so special to my family and a real comfort to my mom during her time of grieving. The theft caused much heartache for my family and it truly feels like a violation.

I was very disappointed that someone would actually do such a thing. It’s a shame that people can’t grieve and take care of their loved ones’ resting places without someone vandalizing and stealing. Why would someone do such a thing?

How can that person look at himself in the mirror and feel good?

Why do such an unkind thing to people who are suffering a loss and to those who are resting in peace?
