By a vote of 1350-884 Tuesday, residents in the RSU 5 towns of Durham, Freeport and Pownal rejected a $2.9 million bond that would have funded a new athletic facility at Freeport High School.

The question passed in Freeport with a vote of 708-646, but it was defeated in Durham and Pownal, 431-102 and 273-74, respectively.

The RSU operating budget of $23,897,877 for 2011-12 was approved 1,289 to 898. Durham and Pownal voters opposed the budget: 309-214 and 204-134, respectively. Freeport approved it, 941-385.

The question requesting authorization to establish a fuel cost stabilization fund passed 1,276 to 859. Durham and Pownal voters opposed it, 305-207.
