AUBURN — Two people were hurt Wednesday afternoon when their SUVs collided at Hotel Road and Kittyhawk Avenue.
Police said Michael Santerre, 43, of Bucksport was driving a Toyota 4Runner south on Hotel Road just after 3 p.m. when he ran a stop sign, causing his vehicle to hit a Toyota RAV4 driven by Darlene Roy, 64, of Poland.
Roy had been headed east on Kittyhawk Avenue, police said, and had been starting through the intersection after stopping at the sign. The intersection is a four-way stop.
Roy’s SUV flipped onto its side as a result of the impact.
When police and rescue crews arrived, the drivers and their passengers were outside of their vehicles. Roy and Santerre were taken to Lewiston hospitals to be checked for minor injuries.
Police said they were continuing to investigate the crash later Wednesday.
