MEXICO — The Police Department is reminding the public that all terrain vehicles are prohibited from using the Honda Trail, which is for snowmobiles and maintained by the Mexico Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club.
The trail runs along the east bank of the Swift River from Route 2, opposite Mexico’s Franklin Savings Bank, off Carlton Avenue, north to the Mexico Recreation Park.
“The trail traverses several private property lots where the owners have expressed they do not want ATV usage on their land,” Chief James Theriault said.
“Any ATV riders caught using the ATV trail will be arrested for trespassing,” he advised. “The law states that unless a trail is marked that it allows ATV use, then the use of ATVs on the trail is prohibited,” he said.
