NORWAY — “Generations,” an exhibit presented by the Western Maine Art Group, explores the concept of families with multiple generations of creative artists.
Member artists will display their own artwork alongside pieces created by their family members. In some cases, the works show how one family member has influenced others, and in others the works are brilliantly different in style and technique.
“Generations” is scheduled to be on display from Friday, Sept. 9, through Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Matolcsy Art Center at 480 Main St., with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9.
Among the current WMAG artists who will have their own and family works on display at the show will be Jo Thomas, Suzanne Hardy, Ulla Hansen, Barbara Traficonte, Madison Sheppard, Judson and Sandra Pealer, Judy Schneider and Melanie Tornberg.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
