Randall “Randy” Allard

AUBURN – Randall “Randy” Allard, a beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend passed away on Aug. 23, 2022 after a short illness. He was 91 years old.

Randall was born in Potsdam, N.Y. on Sept. 19, 1930 to Leroy H. Allard and Marjorie Davis Allard. He was a 1948 graduate of Mechanic Falls High School.

He enlisted in the Navy after graduation and completed basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey. After his time in the service, he worked in the Mechanic Falls paper mill until it closed and then at Marcal Paper in East Rutherford, N.J. until his retirement. Not one to be idle, after retirement, he delivered parts for Napa Auto Parts until his 80th birthday.

Randall married the love of his life, Anita Grenier Cyr in 1973. They truly enjoyed each other’s company. Together they built a life of love and laughter extending to a large circle of family and friends. Randall’s passing leaves a hole in the heart of that circle.

Randall was fun. He loved baseball and his favorite team that will not be named here. He enjoyed family and friends, cars, gadgets, British comedies, and he loved a road trip. Whether it was a Sunday drive or a cross country expedition, he and Anita found both adventure and misadventure on the road and always had great stories to share.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Anita Allard; children Kim Allard (Wenda), Lee Yates (Mike), and Rhea Kennelly (Bob), stepchildren Tina, Tim (Judy), Tom (Darci) and Tony (Wanda) Cyr; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. They will miss his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eyes.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 26 West Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls. Remembrances can be shared online at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com
