To the Editor:
This Saturday, September 17, come up to the Bethel Common for Bethel Harvestfest! A fun-filled day including local art & craft vendors, pony rides, free wagon rides (1-3 pm), a chainsaw carving demonstration, kids’ activities, and live music from a slate of Bethel musicians. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will wrap up at 3 p.m. There will be food from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. featuring baked potatoes, hamburgers, and hotdogs. Don’t forget to grab a piece of homemade apple pie or crisp! There are all kinds of exciting things happening around town all weekend. Visit bethelharvestfest.com for a full schedule. A big thank you to our presenting sponsor Hancock Lumber and our other wonderful sponsors for making this event possible.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
