Avant-guard musician Jessy Kendall will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept, 21, at Trinity Church in Lewiston.

Kendall will present original composition involving improvisation in what he calls “experimental all-vocal loop layers – basically wordless ambient music meant to be as ignorable as it is listenable.”

Kendall has lived and made art and music in Lewiston for the past 18 years. He has performed in musical projects, volunteered time at L A Arts, The Visible Community, ran percussion and song circle groups and hosted multimedia art events in conjunction with Co-Lab Create, L A Artwalk and Maine Arts Commission.

He also has worked with homeless youth in the area since arriving, and before that in Portland doing the same.

Kendall also self-publishes a small arts/literary zine called letterfounder which is published monthly and hit its 200 mark last year.

The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed. Trinity Church is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
