LEWISTON — Taste the Harvest, a seven-course “in the street” outdoor dining experience that celebrates the local food economy, is scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Lisbon Street will be closed for the event.

“We are excited to bring together the key elements of a local food system — farmers, food producers, chefs, and tomorrow’s culinary workforce — to celebrate and contribute to a thriving food economy. This event does all of that while showcasing Lisbon Street and the experiences in Downtown Lewiston,” said Shanna Cox, president and CEO of the LA Metro Chamber.

Sonder & Dram, Central Maine Community College, boba, Cowbell Grill & Tap, Mother India, Obscura Café & Drinkery, Orchid, and Sherman Oaks California Kitchen are each creating and serving signature dishes using local ingredients from the LA region’s farmers. There also will be an on-site beer garden offering local brews from Baxter Brewing, local wine from Cellardoor Winery, and hot cider from Blue Jay Coffee.

Local farm partners and food producers include Chirp Creek Farm, Stonecipher Farm, R. Belanger & Sons Farm, Blackie’s Farm Fresh Produce, Pineland Farms, The Sausage Kitchen, Bell Farms, Eli’s Homestead, Wallingford’s Fruit House, Little Ridge Farm, Blais Maple Syrup, E W Mailhot Sausage Co, The Italian Bakery, and Springworks Farm.
