AUBURN — Carl D. Huston Sr., 77, of 5 Woodland Ave., and life-long resident of Lisbon Falls, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 29, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, following a 10 month fight against cancer.

Carl was born July 6, 1933, the son of Helen and Ronald Huston Sr. He was educated by the Lisbon schools and graduated from Lisbon High School, Class of 1951.

He married his wife, Madelyn F. Huston (Ruby), Aug. 14, 1954. Together, they raised three children, Carl D Huston Jr. of Lisbon Falls, CarolAnne Hydle of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brenda L Field of Lisbon Falls.

Carl started his own business, Carl Huston Contractor, in 1959. He was a longtime member of the Lisbon Advisory Board, was a Lobster Club member, enjoyed golfing, hunting, stock car racing, was a NASCAR official and a Tech Inspector, was a collector of “buggies” (antique wagons) and classic automobiles. He enjoyed restoring vehicles, and spending time with his family. He was a proud recipient of the Lisbon Community Service Award, for his lifetime community service in 2004. He was an incredibly kind and generous man who was always willing to help others.

Besides his wife Madelyn, he is survived by his son, Carl D. Huston Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Lisbon Falls; his daughter, CarolAnne Hydle of Jacksonville, Fla.; his youngest daughter, Brenda L. Field and her husband, Jim, of Lisbon Falls; his sister, Catherine Kankanien and her husband, Mauno, of Kingfield; four grandchildren, Chris, Marlene, Jim and Erica; two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Alivia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brothers, Walter Huston and Ronald (Russell) Huston Jr.
