FRYEBURG — On Thursday, July 7, the 15th season of the International Musical Arts Institute Chamber Music Festival will hold its first “Music for Summer Evenings” concert at Fryeburg Academy.

The special two-week-long tribute season will honor the memory of late founder and artistic director Eric Rosenblith, who died last December.

This season brings together some 40 members of the IMAI family, which includes friends, colleagues and former students who studied, worked and performed with him over the years.

All audience members are invited to IMAI’s annual dessert reception following the 7:30 p.m. performance.

“Music for Summer Evenings” will continue at the same time on Friday and Saturday, July 8-9. In addition, there will be “Music for Sunday Afternoons,” beginning at 2 p.m.  on July 10. Festival concerts will continue the following Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and conclude on Saturday, July 16.

Since its first season in 1997, IMAI has drawn more that 230 performers from 30 nations on five continents, both young aspiring musicians and seasoned artists of international reputation. They seek intensive study, artistic development and the joy of music-making, which they share with concert audiences.

All concerts take place in the air-conditioned Bion Cram Library on the academy campus. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and students. The Sunday afternoon concert is free to seniors and those with mobility limitations.
