DEAR SUN SPOTS: I run the Christmas Craft Fair at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus. The craft fair is on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and I’ve had two vendors cancel at the last minute.

I am looking for two more vendors/crafters to fill these spaces. Please contact me at 754-1018 if you can help out. We’d love to have you here with us for our fair! — Angela, Sabattus

ANSWER: This is a last-minute call for crafters and vendors who can act quickly. Please call Angela right away!

The fair will be held in the downstairs church hall, located on 131 High St. The fair will feature 30 tables of local crafters and vendors, including Scentsy, Christmas ornaments, knitted items, hand painted gifts and more. Participants can also take a chance on the 50/50 raffle or on one of the specially prepared themed gift baskets.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Norway’s Heywood Club will again be setting up our “Lights of Love” Christmas tree at the Club House on the front lawn at the four corners of the Crockett Ridge Road to raise money for our maintenance fund to help maintain our building.

A little history of the club: It was started in 1903 by a group of neighborhood ladies who wanted to get together and discuss books that each would read and to share magazines so it started as a literary club, but it turned into so much more over the years.

In 1905 the club was erected on the spot it is today and has been meeting ever since except for one year during World War II as the women were busy helping on their farms or involved with war-related needs, and again in 2021 because of the pandemic. We are the oldest organization in the town of Norway and have a lot of history.

We have raised money to help families in times of need, provided support for those grieving, helped other organizations in the area with their goals, and of course we have our “Annual 7-Mile Yard Sale” and have lived by our motto “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” for years. We have a small scholarship fund, a general fund and a maintenance fund. We will be celebrating our 120th in 2023.

You can contribute by purchasing a light for the tree in “Memory of or in Honor of Someone.” Donations will be $5 for each light and a list will be posted at the club. The tree lights will be lit for the month of December, adding lights as donations come in.

You can help by making a check out to: The Heywood Club. Please mail it to Barbara Townsend, 475 Crockett Ridge Road, Norway ME 04268. — Barbara, Norway

ANSWER: The town of Norway has really got it going on, and the Heywood Club is part of it all. It really puts me in the holiday spirit to Christmas shop on Main St., enjoy a cup of coffee and view the Lights of Love Tree. This has become part of my Christmas tradition, thanks to my first letter from Barbara.
