WEST PARIS —  First Universalist Church of West Paris, 208 Main St., holds worship services at 9 a.m. every Sunday, with music by Tom Coolidge, followed by a coffee hour.

Candles and the Light of Hope, a program scheduled for Dec. 18, will be led by the Rev. Fayre Stephenson. On this Sunday before the Winter Solstice Christmas, the qualities of light and darkness will be explored as they are revealed in the lessons of Hanukkah and the Winter Solstice, according to a news release from Suzanne Dunham, church board member.

A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and led by Stephenson. This service will be a traditional service of readings and carols for the whole family. There will be special music and participants from the congregation.

There will be no services Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) or Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day).
