ELKHART, Texas — Everett R. Meserve, 83, of Sabattus, died at his vacation home in Texas, July 6.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1927, the son of the late Roger Meserve and Cynthia Tripp. He served as worthy grand patron for the Maine Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star from 1984 to 1985.

He was a life-long car enthusiast and operated his own garages before working for 25 years as a teacher at CMVTI. Mr. Meserve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a competitive target shooter, collecting many trophies over the years. 

He is survived by his sister, Betty Pottle of Portland; a brother, Robert of Raymond; his five children, Mary Meserve Sleeper and husband, Skip, of Poland, Everett Jr. and companion, Dot, of Pownal, Marci Meserve Ellingwood and husband, Michael, of Auburn, Lorrie Meserve Callaway of Rockport and Evelyn Meserve of Upton, Mass.; three grandchildren, Carol Sleeper Blake, Pamela Sleeper Morgan and Mykel Callaway; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Fred.
