LEWISTON – Margaret (McKenna MacPhee) MacDonald, 80, of Lewiston, passed away on Jan. 14, 2023, in Lewiston, with her children by her side. She was born in Rumford, on July 26, 1942, to parents Ralph and Mary McKenna.

Margaret’s first job was at the Rumford Zoo. She later worked as an office manager in North Carolina. She was also elected as town commissioner of Indian Beach, N.C.

Margaret enjoyed crocheting, painting and crafting. She had an amazing sense of humor. She was also a great cook, and enjoyed baking.

Margaret cherished her time spent with family, and also her beloved pet cats.

She was predeceased by both parents; her first husband, Francis J. MacPhee; and her second husband, James V. MacDonald.

Surviving her are her children, Laura A. MacPhee of Brunswick; James M. MacPhee and his wife Deborah of Boston, and; her brother Bill McKenna and his wife Brenda, with their daughters Renee and Christine; her brother Ray McKenna and his wife Kathy; her grandson Joe MacPhee, and her cherished cousins and friends.

A committal service at the Maine Veterans Cemetery 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, will be announced in the spring.
