Please license your dog(s) by January 31 to avoid the $25 late fee. Cats are not required to be licensed, but state law requires that all cats must be vaccinated for rabies. Dog Licenses may be done at the Town Office or online through the State of Maine. All dogs must be licensed once the dog reaches the age of 6 months. The licensing period is from January 1st to December 31st of each year. You must bring your dog(s) neutering/spaying certificate (if applicable) and current rabies certificate (with the state seal) to complete the licensing process at the Town Office. After January 31st a state-imposed $25 late fee will be charged for each unlicensed dog.
Fees at Town Office:
Neutered/Spayed Dog $6, unneutered/unspayed $11;
Online through InforME:
neutered/spayed Dog $7, unneutered/unspayed $12.
If you no longer have your pet (we are sorry for your loss), please call the Town Office so we may update our records.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
