Theresa J. Fouquette

NEW GLOUCESTER – Theresa J. Fouquette, 61, passed away peacefully in her home in New Gloucester on Feb. 1, 2023.

Terry was born in Lewiston on May 7, 1961, to Roger and Lucille Fortin. She attended St. Dominic High School in Lewiston, where she met Paul Fouquette, her husband. They married on May 28, 1983.

Terry was always passionate about cooking and baking, and worked in the food industry her entire life. She started in high school, at the restaurant Bonanza in Lewiston, working her way up to manager.

When they got married she moved to New York with Paul, and worked for the Marriott Corp., receiving training in corporate catering and decorative garnishing. Terry and Paul moved back to Maine and settled in New Gloucester when their son, Dan was born.

Terry worked at the New Gloucester Village Bake House, in the Gray-New Gloucester Middle and High School cafeterias, and finally started her own business making hand painted chocolates and confections, Terry’s Country Candies. She continued her business to the end, running for over 16 years. Terry put passion and effort into everything she did, and made so many people happy with her talents.

Terry loved the ocean, and took every chance she could get to spend time on their boat in Casco Bay. She grew up fishing on the lakes of Maine, and always loved the thrill of the catch.

She loved to read, and could read several books a week. She was passionate about music, and most of all she loved to have fun, talk, and dance. Terry brightened any room she was in with joy and laughter, and could hold a conversation with anyone. She spent her life dedicated to being kind and compassionate to others, and always found a way to help others out, whether through work, a favor, a conversation, or a smile.

Terry is survived by her husband Paul; son, Dan Fouquette, daughter, Angie Fouquette and her husband Jim Russell.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Friday Feb. 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton St., Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St., Lewiston.
