LEWISTON – Alfred Virgil Hodgkins III, 60, passed away on Feb. 5, 2023, in Lewiston, Maine. He was born in Rumford, Maine on January 19, 1963, to Alfred Virgil Hodgkins II & Esther Macie Hodgkins Fellows.

Alfred was fondly called Al, Fred or Peanut and was known to all as a free spirit. Throughout his life, Alfred enjoyed spending time with his friends and cooking feasts for the neighborhood. Alfred was a hard worker doing everything from running the press at the Advertiser Democrat to roofing, and installing carpets and flooring. Later in life, Al became disabled, yet, he refused to let that stop him from living independently and to the fullest.

He was predeceased by his parents Alfred Hodgkins II and Esther Fellows, and his sister Vicki Hodgkins.

He is survived by his brother Victor Hodgkins.

A graveside service will be held in Hanover, Maine, later in the Spring.
