Santina “Sunny” Lorraine Elliott

AUBURN – On Jan. 20, 2023, the Lord received Santina “Sunny” Lorraine Elliott into his arms, giving her peace and rest. She was born Oct. 23, 1939, and was 83 years old.

Sunny is survived and missed by her loving husband, Harold “Skip” Elliott; and her children, son, Kip and his wife Laurie, daughter, Kim, and daughter-in-law, Kimmie. She is forever cherished and remembered by her six grandchildren, Danielle, Randi, Kyle, Kayla, Madison, Isaac; and her great-grandchildren Nico, Santina, Devinna, Wyatt, Gaia, Ronan and Rylan. Her memory lives on with her beloved nieces Robin Loring and her family, husband Richie, daughter Anna and niece Pamela Small. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Rolfe of Bangor.

Sunny was predeceased by her youngest son, Kyle, on May 19, 2001; her mother, Santina Emily (Puiia) White of Bangor, and her father, Winfred Charles Kelley of Brewer.

She was born in Bangor, Maine where she attended St. John’s Catholic School and went on to John Bapst High School. She was a straight “A” student throughout her years in school. It was while in high school she met her husband, and eventually moved to the Lewiston/Auburn area. They created many memories while enjoying all Maine has to offer in its beauty and activities. They were blessed with a wonderful 67 years of marriage. She and Skip loved their camp on Cathance Lake, in Washington County. She took an active role in caring for her great-grandchildren.

She worked hard raising her children, while often working different jobs to help the family achieve many goals in life. Later on she and her daughter operated a food truck, visiting work sites around the Lewiston/Auburn area. She was an amazing cook and was known for her spaghetti and meatballs. Sunny was also an avid reader.

Her love and generosity will be missed by all who knew her. She was caring and compassionate, always lending an ear with an open heart to any who needed advice or just to be loved.

We will be celebrating Sunny’s life Saturday, Feb. 18, at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, ME 04240. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and a religious service honoring Sunny will be at 4 p.m. Memories may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
