CORNISH — Andy Valley West won the 9-and-under Cal Ripken baseball state championship, defeating SAD 6 in the final, 6-1.

Wyatt Williamson of Woodstock was voted MVP for his outstanding pitching and his catching ability behind the plate.

During the tournament, the team also had a tough comeback win against Skowhegan, 4-3. 

Team members are from South Paris, West Paris, Norway, Woodstock and Bethel.

The boys will travel to Bethel, Conn., for the regional tournament August 6-12.
