Jeanne Bagshaw Raymond
LEWISTON – Jeanne Bagshaw Raymond, 86, of Lewiston, passed away on March 18, 2023.
Born April 28, 1936, in Lowell, Mass., to Herbert and Gertrude Wells Bagshaw, Jeanne grew up in Salem, N.H. Due to Herbert being a traveling engineer, Jeanne attended high school in Halifax, Va.; Chapel Hill, N.C.; and Woodbury High School in Salem, N.H., where she graduated in 1954. In 1970 she graduated from the Lawrence Vocational School in Massachusetts as a licensed practical nurse.
In 1989 Jeanne and her husband Bob moved from Derry, N.H., to Lewiston. For over 20 years Jeanne resided as President of the No Name Pond Watershed Management Association and supported the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council. In 2007 the city of Lewiston recognized Jeanne for her commitment to the environment. Jeanne loved loons and regularly taught local children about them. The Lewiston Public Works know Jeanne as the “mayor” of No Name Pond who baked cookies for the snow plow operators. Jeanne attended Calvary United Methodist Church.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Kathie Rouse, Linda Bagshaw, and Lori Barry; grandchildren, Derek, Heather, Jake, and Rachel; great grandchildren Maximilian, Hali’a, and Michael; and brother John Bagshaw. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, son James Ellsworth, and brother David Bagshaw.
A Celebration of Jeanne’s life will be announced at a later date.
