Members of Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Their inability to reach a timely resolution to the debt crisis has brought the nation and the world to the brink of financial disaster.

Some members of Congress, including John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, have been there too long. They should be thrown out of office, pack their bags and go home. Because of them, middle-class Americans have lost thousands of dollars from their pensions and 401(k) plans.

President Barack Obama should stay in Washington and lead the country the way he is supposed to, instead of flying around the country every day to get his picture on television.

One more thing — the nation should get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those wars cannot be won. U.S. troops do not belong there; they are just being killed by people who do not want them there.

Getting out of those countries should go a long way toward solving the debt crisis.

The U.S. should spend those funds here, not on other nations whose residents vow to kill Americans.
