GREENE — Fire crews responded to a recreational vehicle on fire at 4 Webster Road on Saturday, officials said.
The camper was parked in the backyard of a residence that was not affected by flames, said Greene Fire Chief John Soucy. The fire threatened structures across the road, but crews were able to prevent the flames from spreading, he said.
No injuries were reported.
“If it was windier, that fire could have spread,” Soucy said. “There’s a lot of a lot of structures in the area that could have been affected by it.”
Greene was assisted by fire crews from Turner, Leeds, Wales, Sabattus and Monmouth and by Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
