AUGUSTA — A New York man and Augusta woman were arrested Monday after police searched a Drew Street apartment and found illegal drugs and money.
Malik Miller, 36, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, trafficking in prison contraband and criminal forfeiture. Tammy Peaslee, 52, of Augusta, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and criminal forfeiture, according to a news release from Augusta Police Deputy Chief Kevin Lully.
At about 11:45 a.m. Monday, officers from Augusta Police, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, acting on a search warrant, searched Apt. 6 at 23 Drew St. in Augusta. Police seized money, crack cocaine, fentanyl and “contraband,” but declined to disclose the amount of money or what was included in the contraband.
Miller is being held on $10,500 cash bail and Peaslee is being held on $5,500 cash bail, both at Kennebec County jail.
