DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for someone in the Lewiston/Auburn area who can remove rust from outdoor furniture and repaint it. — No name, no town
ANSWER: I don’t have anyone in the Rolodex who does this specific task but perhaps a handyperson or fellow Sun Spots reader who is into DIY will read this and come forward to help you. Write to me if you are willing or know someone who can take this on.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a Ridgeway grandfather clock that needs cleaning and service. Do you know of anyone that does this on site? As a last resort if needed, I could disassemble the clock and transport it to the shop. — No name, Paris
ANSWER: In the Rolodex I have King Street Clock Repair at 247 King St. in Oxford, ([email protected] (739-9038), Rohman Clockworks at 350 Minot Ave. in Auburn (784-1211), Harry Hepburn at 38 Main St. in Harrison (583-2821), G&G Clock Services (Gabe Gaboury) on 6 Gaboury Drive in Chelsea (441-1013), and Mark Beever at the Hickory Dickory Doc Clock Shop in Cornish (625-7403).
I hope you find just the right expert for the job!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are such a great resource for us all. If we ask a question you have the answer so here I am again. I’m looking for someone who collects old cameras. I have a couple from the 1920s complete with instructions.
I’m also looking for a coin collector. Thanks for all your help. — No name, no town
ANSWER: Vintage cameras are in a very specific niche. Do they work or are they for display only? What brand are they? Could they be used as theater props, for lifestyle photography or art props, or as an interior decorating display? Readers, if you’re interested, let us know.
Republic Jewelry and Collectibles at 212 Center St. in Auburn (977-422-7979) or Compass Coin & Jewelry at 185 Webster St. in Lewiston (240-9558) may be interested in looking at your coins, but perhaps we have some Sun Spotters who are collectors. If so, please write in.
