Paulette Ann Fortier

WORCESTER, Mass. – Paulette Ann Fortier, 79, a longtime resident of Worcester, Mass., passed away at the Willows Health Center on March 17, 2023.

Born in Lewiston, Paulette was the daughter of the late Paul J. Fortier, M.D. and Annette (Madore) Fortier. Paulette was raised in Lewiston and graduated from Marie Joseph Academy in Biddeford Pool, and Bliss Junior College in Lewiston.

Paulette initially moved to Boston, Mass. to work for an insurance company and a few years later, relocated to Worcester, Mass. to work at the headquarters of Hanover Insurance Company. Paulette enjoyed her 35 years of service at Hanover and the many wonderful friends she had there. Following her retirement in 2003, Paulette volunteered for several years at the Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center.

Paulette was a long time parishioner of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester, Mass. She enjoyed travel and took several trips to Europe and throughout the United States. After her parents died, she spent holidays and family celebrations with her sister’s family. She especially enjoyed her sister’s cats.

During the last five years of her life, Paulette lived at the Willows Health Center where she enjoyed her many friends among the staff and residents.

Paulette is survived by her sister, Michele (Fortier) Cullen and her husband Brian of Auburn (formerly of Melrose, Mass.); her nephew, Paul F. Cullen of Somerville, Mass. and her niece, Erin (Cullen) Hite of San Diego, Calif.

A memorial service will be held for Paulette on May 16, at 1 p.m. at Mausoleum Chapel of Saint Peter’s Cemetery, in Lewiston.
