Tony Locklear of Portland looks at the expanding pool of hydraulic fluid leaking from a forklift that fell off the trailer on his truck, background, after pulling away from the traffic light at the corner of Court Street and Park Avenue in Auburn Tuesday around noon. Locklear was driving the tractor-trailer, owned by New England Fish, to drop off the forklift to be serviced. Unaware of what happened, Locklear continued driving until somebody who witnessed it falling off was able to get him to pull over on Minot Avenue. A flatbed wrecker picked up the broken forklift, and with help from Auburn Highway Division and Locklear, spread environmental absorbent onto the spill.
