OXFORD — Eric Hanson and Friends will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday,  Aug. 20, at the Hosanna Church.

This concert will feature not only Eric’s solo works, but also the music of One Way and of REJOICE! music ministries as well. On two of Eric’s nationally distributed songs, a gospel choir will be featured, under the direction of Sarah Johnson, who was, for seven years, the director of the Viking Choir of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Johnson is currently the director at Greely High School in Cumberland.

Eric wrote his first Christian music back in1973, released his first solo album in 1980, and saw the first of his songs published nationally in 1984. Other albums, both solo and with REJOICE! followed over the next 15 years. The wide ranging Christian music includes mellow acoustic, mild rock, country and semi-classical styles.

Accompaniment at the concert will range from a finger picked guitar to a full band with choir.

Music continues to be a passion for him, but traveling and concert work has taken a back seat to other things for quite a few years now, as he is also a pastor, husband, father, and grandfather.

Tim Henry (piano, bass, vocals), Dallas Henry (piano, organ, backing vocals) , Nancy Hanson (vocals), Adam Hanson (founder of One Way/drums, vocals), Beth (Stamboulis) Hanson (vocals, percussion) and Sarah Johnson (vocals and percussion) are among the One Way and REJOICE! members who will make perform.

There is no charge for admission. A love offering will be received to help HIS Music. Hosanna Church is located at 109 Schoolhouse Road, near Welchville, just off Route 121. Call Eric at 890-5979 or the church office at 539-2295 for directions if needed.
