NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group will host a juried art exhibit open to all artists in July 2023 at the Matolcsy Art Center in Norway. The show will begin with a reception on Friday, July 7, and will be judged Saturday, July 8. The exhibit will continue through July 29. The judge will be David Little, noted Maine artist and author.
Artists are invited to submit works in all media, including photography and sculpture. All work must be suitably framed and ready to be hung. For free-standing sculptures, bases must be included.
Three cash prizes will be awarded, including $300 for first, $200 for second, and $100 for third.
To apply, artists may submit to [email protected] as many as three jpeg images of their artwork with descriptions including contact information, title, size, and medium. No submissions will be accepted after June 12. Artists will be notified of acceptance by June 15.
The group especially hopes to attract and support artists working in the Oxford Hills area.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
