Lorraine L. Dubois

LEWISTON – Lorraine L. Dubois, 92, a lifelong resident of Lewiston, peacefully passed away on May 10. She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 12, 1931, daughter of the late Rosaire and Yvonne (Custeau) Dion. She grew up in Lewiston and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of 1949.

On July 4, 1958, she married Maurice Dubois and they started a family together. During that time, Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for Marcotte Furniture World. She also always found the time to tend to her home and her family’s needs as a devoted homemaker.

She will always be remembered for her love of sewing, baking (especially her special caramels), volunteering at St. Martin de Porres homeless shelter and making puzzles with her friends at Maison Marcotte. She was very family oriented, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and being strongly involved in her community. She will be deeply missed.

Lorraine is survived by her two children, Robert Dubois and his wife Melissa of Alpharetta, Ga. and Ann Marie Sellinger and her husband Richard of Scarborough. She also leaves behind her sister, Anita Clark of Lewiston; and her precious grandchildren, Alec, Jack, and Wilson Dubois and Caleb, Maya and Liam Sellinger; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Maurice and her siblings Yvette Benoit, Muriel Dion, and Donald Dion.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday June 9, 2023 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Lewiston at 11 a.m. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery also in Lewiston.
