Claudette Mae Grandmaison
LEWISTON – Claudette Mae Grandmaison, 86, of Oxford, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Woodlands Memory Care in Lewiston.
She was born in Worcester, Mass. on Dec. 21, 1936, the daughter of Conrad and Marion Hanks Dupuis. Educated in Massachusetts schools, she was a graduate of Leicester High School, and on Aug. 27, 1955, she married Bertrand R. Grandmaison. Together they made a home in Lewiston and raised six children. She was employed by the State of Maine for many years, retiring in 2000.
Claudette loved playing Bingo, and enjoyed knitting and crafting, creating many beautiful gifts for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader who quietly enjoyed a good novel. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all who knew her, and her radiant smile and warm personality brightened the day of those who cared for her.
Survivors include five sons, Paul of Greene, John and wife Wanda of Auburn, David and companion Lisa Pelkey of Leeds, Marc and wife Sarah of Lacey, Wash., and Mickey and wife Sandy of Poland, a daughter, Paula and husband John Moxcey of Oxford; a brother, Francis Dupuis and wife Beverly of Hudson, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Bert; and a nephew, David Dupuis.

Visitation will be held at the Albert and Burpee Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a Liturgy of the Word Service at 1 p.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memories of Claudette may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
