WORCESTER, Mass. — Four local students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute completed their senior thesis as part of the university’s project-based educational experience, the Major Qualifying Project.

The project is usually team-based and often focuses on very specific issues or needs of an organization that has partnered with the university to sponsor the student’s work.

Vanessa Bussiere of Lisbon Falls, majoring in architectural engineering, class of 2023, completed the project: Design a net-zero and resilient building for heatwaves.

Harmoni Larrabee of Lewiston, majoring in computer science, class of 2023, completed the project: Neurotype Cafe Visual Novel.

Hope Hutchinson of Greene, majoring in biology and biotechnology and professional writing, class of 2023, completed the project: BPA in Cellular Stress and Incidence of Reproductive Cancers.

Jacob Bernard of Mechanic Falls, majoring in robotics engineering, class of 2023, completed the project: Upper Body Motion Mechanism.
