ANDOVER — Joyce S. Frazier, 80, of Newton Street in Andover, died Sunday, Aug. 21, at her residence, following a courageous battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig Disease.
She was born in Sherwood, N.Y., Sept. 14, 1930, a daughter of Perry and Christine (Wyant) Schenck. Joyce was educated in New York, and Maryland, schools.
She married Harold L Frazier on Jan. 4, 1952. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage. Joyce enjoyed sharing her ceramic and toll painting skills with her students over the past 40 years.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, stamping and doing picture puzzles. Joyce enjoyed going to the weekly Stitch and Bitch (quilting) at Shirley’s.
Joyce is survived by her two children, son, Howard “Lee” Frazier and wife, Christine, of Lisbon Falls; daughter, Carolyn M. McDonough of Andover; sister, June Dunbar of Liverpool, N.Y.; brother, Walter Schenck and wife, Nancy, of Cleveland, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Keagan, Kasey, Hanson, Peter, David, Darrick and Shannon; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Alex, Nicholas, Nathan, Jayden, Jacob and Kurt.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold L. Frazier; a son, Dean R. Frazier; and a daughter, Christine S. Mulvaney.
