Paul Theodore Nyberg

LEWISTON – Paul Theodore Nyberg, 81, formerly of Auburn, passed away June 2, 2023, with his children and loved ones by his side.

He was born Dec. 12, 1941 in Lewiston. He was brought up and cared for by Theodore and Emily Nyberg; with his brother Peter. His other siblings Karen, John and Mike Nyberg.

Paul graduated from Edward Little High School, M.C.I., Dean Jr. College and Husson College. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army. He met and married Judith Bower and they raised three children, Darren, Deanna and Karl.

He worked at the Auburn Die Co. with his grandfather. Later he co-owned Associated Die Co. with his father. In later years, he worked at C.E. Noyes, Superior Concrete, owned Pump Technics, and worked at L.L.Bean.

Paul was an amazing football player in high school and college. He was gifted at forging and manufacturing. He enjoyed reading, history, hunting, football, motorcycles, and getting to know people. He would remember everyone by name and where they were from. He loved animals and would always come up with his own nickname for them.

He will be best remembered as a loving, loyal, and selfless man. He was the best father and grandfather you could hope for. He enjoyed attending the games and events of his children and grandchildren.

Paul was predeceased by his parents; grandparents; and his son, Darren Paul.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Deanna Nyberg (Cheeko) of Auburn, his son, Karl Nyberg of Lewiston; his grandchildren Todd (Ashley), Amy (Thomas), Lucas, Cody, Owen, Oliver, Kelsey, Delaney, Kolinn; his siblings Peter, Karen, John, Mike (Ann); great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Boutaugh, the awesome RNs and CNAs at Montello Manor for their love and excellent care of Paul.

A service will be held Friday, June 9 at 3 p.m. at the East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave., Auburn.
