Frieda Shaw Raymond

AUBURN – On July 3, 2023, Frieda Shaw Raymond passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia. She was born on Aug. 25, 1939, on Cape Breton Island in her beloved Canada. She graduated from Edward Little in 1959.

She is survived by two children, Donald W. Damon Jr., and Shawn Colleen Damon; also Frieda’s partner of 38 years, Sammy Smith, and many grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren. Also a special best friend Elżbieta Grudzień of Warsaw, Poland.

She was predeceased, by two other children, Wendy Damon and Ralph Raymond, as well as her sister Martha, also from Canada.

At this time the family would like to thank Odd Fellows nursing home for the care they gave her over the past several years . As well as her hospice care team at CMMC unit T-3.

We were able to be there and hold her hand until she passed with guidance from such special angels.
