FARMINGTON — Larry J. Houghton, 67, of Phillips, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 13, 1944, in Lewiston, the son of Earl W. and Mildred (Lishon) Houghton. He attended schools in Auburn and Lewiston. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Larry returned home in 1975, after being stationed in Germany.
He worked for many years driving a school bus for SAD 9 and 58, and later drove for Western Maine Transportation. Larry was a former member of the Masons and enjoyed wildlife photography and sharing his wonderful cooking with friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his three sons, Eric James Houghton and his wife, Michelle, of South Jordan, Utah, Nicholas Aaron Houghton of Park City, Utah, and Joshua Winfield Houghton of New Hampshire and Phillips; and ex-wife and dear friend, Sheri (Anderson) Houghton, of Farmington.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Houghton.
