To the Editor:
Please help the Bethel Outing Club (BOC) win a WinterKids Downhill24 grant to purchase gear to help kids and community members get out skiing this winter! With enough votes at WinterKids.org we could win $500, $5,000, or even $10,000! Voting closes July 28.
The BOC has, for years, provided Nordic skiing opportunities for youth and adults. This past winter the club collaborated with Mahoosuc Kids Association, The River Fund, Inland Woods and Trails, and Gould Academy to get kids out skiing after school at Crescent Park School (and over to Bethel Village Trails from there). About 70 kids participated, as well as adult volunteers. This wouldn’t be possible without having ski gear for them all. The ski gear available was pretty maxed out last winter and some of it is ready to be replaced. This grant would provide funding for new skis and possibly a trailer to bring them to events with other necessary support equipment.
Your vote would be much appreciated and it only takes a minute. Go to WinterKids.org, click on “Vote Now” (top left area), and scroll down to the voting. Bethel Outing Club is third down under non-profits. You may also vote for a school and/or parks and rec dept. Each email address may only vote once, and voting ends July 28.
Thanks for your help!
