Richard A. Cyr

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Richard A. Cyr passed away on June 19, 2023, while on vacation in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was born on May 14, 1942, in Lewiston, and attended local schools. The son of former Desneige and Adahmar Cyr of Lewiston. Richard enlisted in the Army at the age of 17, and served in Germany.

He was married to the Pierrette Cyr for 40 years before her death in 2004. After retiring from Bath Iron Works as a computer operator, Richard moved to Sarasota, Fla., where he married former Jackueline Currier in 2011.

Richard leaves his wife of 12 years, his son Mark Cyr of Greene, daughter Tina LaBonte of Alabama, grandsons Dillon Cyr of Texas and Connor Cyr of Greene, granddaughter Kiani Prebit of Alabama.

Interment services will be held on Aug. 14, 2023, at 12 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Section H, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine 04330.
