•THUMBS DOWN to the two vehicles that struck and killed a deer fawn on main street by the fish truck, left it in middle of road and kept going. SHAME ON YOU!
•THUMBS DOWN to all the accidental 911 calls. A waste of time and resources. Start charging them a fee.
•THUMBS UP to Ken and Kash Haley and Beth Haley Smith for sponsoring the Clogging group Northern Explosion at the Logging Parade and Festival. They have helped to keep this long-standing tradition alive.
•THUMBS UP to Jann Minzy for providing her camp as lodging for the Northern Explosion Cloggers so they could take part in the Logging Parade and Festival.
•THUMBS UP to CMP and Fidium for fixing the downed power line, telephone, and fiberoptic internet lines to my house last week. Apparently, a construction truck had hit the lines on McCard Rd and brought them down. CMP was there that night to fix the power, and Fidium came the next day and ran a new fiberoptic internet line to my house. Bravo.
•THUMBS UP to RFA for a great Drowsy Chaperone and an excellent Kitchen Table this week.
•THUMBS DOWN to the woman who spoiled it for others by not keeping her comments to herself, during the shows Monday and Wednesday.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
