To the Editor:
Natalie Andrews and I have worked very closely throughout her time as Bethel Town Manager. She is nothing less than remarkable.
In late October 2022, Natalie and I sat side by side in the front of town office for four days keeping the town running (when others were sick) by processing payments, renewing vehicle registrations, and allowing people to absentee vote.
During that time, we learned a lot about each other and the commitment we both have for not only what we believe in, but for the Town of Bethel. We have spent many long hours at the office working hard to assure that the community is served well.
She is kind, caring, knows how to get the job done, but most importantly makes her employees believe in themselves, thus making them better employees and individuals. As you can imagine, her team has been – and currently are – experiencing many emotions.
We are truly saddened that we are losing our fearless leader, teammate, and caring member of our work family. She will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will always be there for her. Her next place of employment will be very lucky to have her and I wish her nothing but the best.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
