The Maine Professional Drivers Association’s 25th annual Trucking for Kids Convoy event is set for Sunday, Sept. 17, in an effort to help Camp Sunshine and Camp POSTCARD raise funds for operations.
Activities will include a touch-a-truck event from 10 a.m. to noon, as well as a truck show, drivers competition, raffle items, 50/50 raffle and food, according to a news release from Joshua White, publicity officer with the Maine Professional Drivers Association.
The lineup is set for 8-11 a.m. at the Hannaford Corporate Office, 145 Pleasant Hill Road in Scarborough. The convoy will roll out at noon; rain or shine.
Anyone with a truck that would like to register for the convoy can do so online at mpda.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
