Claire V. Morrissette

AUBURN – Claire V. Morrissette, 82, wife of Dr. George Morrissette of 140 Russell St. Lewiston, passed away on Aug. 28, 2023 at the Androscoggin Hospice House of complications of Multiple Sclerosis.

She was born on April 4, 1941 in Augusta, daughter of Adrien and Yvonne Violette, and worked as a social worker, medical secretary and medical office manager until 1989 when she was declared disabled.

She leaves behind her husband, Dr. George Morrissette; daughter, Maria Grenier-Morrissette and wife Karen of Portland, son, Dr. Gregory Morrissette of South Portland; a sister, Mariette Lambert of Kennebunk; grandchildren Reeve, Meya, Alyssa and Evan; along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering for the public at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home on 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Thursday, Sept 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Claire’s life will be celebrated at St. Philip’s Catholic Church on Center Street in Auburn on Friday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall following the Mass.
