Glendon “Glen” R. Drake

HEBRON – Glendon “Glen” R. Drake, 82, of Hebron, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1941, in Livermore, the son of Henry A. and Ruby (Chamberlain) Drake. He was a 1961 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On Nov. 5, 1960, at North Livermore Baptist Church in Livermore he married Sandra Punch.

Glen owned and operated Valley View Orchards for 17 years, he also owned and operated Drake and Sons Construction for 15 years, and was the Road Commissioner for the town of Hebron for 20 years.

He was a race fan and enjoyed following NASCAR and raced himself in the #101 Car at Oxford Plains Speedway. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing with his grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra of Hebron; daughter, Rhonda Welch and husband Chris of Lewiston, son, James Drake and partner Sherry of Hebron; two grandchildren, Alisha Piper and husband Ben of Minot and Kaitlynn Drake and partner Kyle of Turner, three step-grandchildren, Scott of Florida, Amanada of Hebron, and Laura of Gardiner; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Collin, and Adley; and his brother, Henry Drake Jr. and wife Corinne of Kents Hill.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his sisters Sylvia and Emily.
