LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library encourages patrons to use care, as construction continues in the area.

Card holders are asked to bring in their library cards to have them re-barcoded to meet library standards. Beginning Oct. 1, cards will be required to check out materials. Replacement cards can be issued. Patrons using the Download Library (ebooks, audiobooks, etc.) need to be aware that they must use all 14 numbers of their new barcodes to log in.

Another change is that materials will no longer be stamped with a due date. Upon checkout a receipt showing all items and the due date will be automatically printed.

The knit/crochet group has been creating purple hats in support of the Click for Babies Initiative sponsored by the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Continuing through Oct. 10, knitters and crocheters are invited to help by making purple hats for newborns and dropping them off at the library. All hats will be sent to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. Crafters do not have to be a member of the library or even live in Livermore Falls to participate. The library has patterns and yarn available for free.

Preschool Story Time is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
